Bra Blues

Bought the front mask from Infiniti for my G35. Heated it up in about 80 degree sunshine, then proceeded to bloody all my fingers trying to stretch the thing on. Finally got it on in about 40 minutes. Left it on for a couple of days an took it off (re-bloodied my fingers) and noticed it was Sooooo tight that the clips actually dug through the paint where they attached inside the front wheel wells.

What's up with this? Does this thing ever finally stretch out to the point where it becomes pratical to put it on and take it off? And not ruin the paint. Mildly peed off.

Re: Bra Blues

Bras are bad for cars man... scratches the paint and when/if you take it off, the paint under the bra will be a different color from the rest of the car. You should get the clear bra. The clear bra is a transparent film that lays on top of your paint and essentially does the same thing as a bra.

Re: Bra Blues

The Colgan bra fits fine, doesn't have the front plate hole if you don't need it, and the parts that touch the fender are lined with a felt-like material.

3M Clear Bra. All other types of bras belong on '78 Camaros.

Re: Bra Blues

I realize bras ain't the best thing for cars. I bought it with the idea of just putting on for long road trips. I used to have a Celica that I could put the bra on in about 5 minutes.

Where do you all recommend to get the Colgan? How is the Clear bra applied? I see a lot of mention of it but not really that familiar with it.

Re: Bra Blues

Strictlyz had the best price when I bought mine. I also only use it for trips. Takes about 5 minutes to put on and take off. It is double padded in all areas that usually rub and the fasteners have a soft felt-like material on them.

Re: Bra Blues

The G nose mask has felt on the clips, too, and no license plate hole. As long as you follow the directions to a T and maybe have someone to help you out, the bra will go on without a hitch if it's been heated up.

It took me forever to get it right, but after I calmed down, did just what the instructions said, and heated it up for an hour or so, it went on just fine. Also, don't let it stay on for more than a few days at a time, and DEFINITELY don't let moisture get under it-- that's what will discolor the paint. I put mine on for a road trip and it worked perfectly.

Re: Bra Blues

I had the clear bra installed at the dealership when I bought the car. I was so impressed with it I had one installed on my NSX.
