Re: Costs

depending on the options you are looking for and the amount of money you're willing to pay, I'd say your best chance to get a coupe would be to buy a used one.

Re: Costs

If it has a sunroof, it has the premium package (which most have, and adds ~$2400 to the list price). If it has the wing, it most likely has the aero package (+$550) or full aero kit (+$650-1150). You'll be hard-pressed to find a used one at that cost, and since I just bought mine after shopping for about 2 months, I'll tell you that the lowest I saw was $28500; however, it had some curb damage (which was minor in reality). Maybe you'll be able to find one slightly damaged like this one, and will be able to weasel your way to the $27's... good luck, and think about other resources for the extra ~$2kish that you need...

Re: Costs

$27K might get you a used G coupe, but probably not a new one. Especially one with a spoiler. I think most dealers put spoilers on the better equipped coupes.
If you can't go over $27k on a new car, why not go with a loaded Accord coupe or a base 350Z?

ggrl77 - note...

when i was initially shopping, i looked at used ones as well. Most dealers were asking $33k+ for USED ones, when perfectly good NEW ones were right next to them for $34k and up. I found that the dealerships were barely willing to budge in price on the new G's, but had a LOT of relax room on their used coupes. Most trade-in 03 coupes go for $27-28, and they turn those for the profit. Most people, I think, at least try to sell their cars privately before trading them in. Keep in top of the local paper, craigslist.org, autotrader, etc. - maybe you can find a 20k mile G for $27k or so...
again, good luck,

SS

Re: Costs

yeah, no way. Dont even bother looking. Not going to happen. Your going to have to wait until some G's get older. I wouldnt worry about the spoiler. You can always add it later. The sunroof you'll defn. need....shouldnt be difficult since most everyone pays extra for it.
Basically, wait longer or find more money.

Re: Costs

Another option you might want to look into is the VPP program. I'm pretti sure it's also valid for used coupes. Your next best thing is to wait another 6 months. I'm pretti sure the price of the 03 coupes will depreciate with the release of the 05 models.

Good luck,

Ken

Re: Costs

Are you more concerned about the price or the monthly payment? Have you tried leasing before? That might be another option.

Re: Costs

Just keep searching, something will come your way. Forget about new, your only hope is something used w/ 15-20+k miles. If you find a coupe with cloth + miles, I am almost certain it will fall in your price range. Keep an eye out...
