Sound Proofing Diamond Kote Blab

Hey fellas,

I don't have the ride yet, which is the reason for this post sorta.

I was wondering if anyone got the Diamond Kote package with the sound proofing.

Supposedly the sound proofing is like a rubberized coating that goes on some parts of the undercarriage etc to minimize road noise etc.

Firstly I was wondering if you had it done, would you now have rather not.

Secondly, do the wheel well plastic type insert panels .. if they are coated as I noticed the plastic is not covering overall inside there... I saw exterior color painted surfaces in there too.(which I would like to show as all black) essentially looking in there you see the spring etc and some painted areas and then some black plastic paneled portions too, which I think would look better all black, leading into my third question.

How thick is this stuff and is it pourous .. which would retain sand etc more easily and make it more painful to clean well.

Lastly, if it coated over parts that maybe should not have been OR if it seems to have covered anything anyone would like to see not covered, so I can request to not have it done on that particular portion (s)

Later Gs

OK, you asked but I believe most of us did not get the 'undercoating', which is what it is no matter how many pretty names they put on it.
Sand and stuff do get stuck to it and in some instances, if not applied correctly will trap moisture and accelerate rusting.
General concensus is that it is not needed on newer cars. Adds weight and a real mess to work around if you have to do any undercarriage work.
You asked.
