2 coupes 1 decision Help Please

hello all!!!!

i will be getting me a g35 6MT by the end of the week!
but i have a problem!

2 coupes!
both in the color i want
both have 6 speed

heres is the toughy!
one is a 2004 which has the BREMBO brakes and the 280 horsepower
the other is a 2005 wich as you all know doesn't and the 298 horsepower

is the extra power worth losing that superior braking?
or is the braking worth 18 horsepower?

the mileage is not that different

help

i had the same problem at one point. i choose the 05 better interior, and the warranty date, and cause the rev up.

from what i remember the breaks dont stop better they just dont heat up as fast as stocks do.

Brembo's are nice.. but lights out made a good point.. The 05 is newer and will have a longer warranty.. Plus you've got the revup engine..

A lot of people will say to get the 04 because of the oil consumption issues with the rev ups.. Just be sure to check your oil, and if anything does happen then you got a long powertrain warranty to cover you.

if you're going to upgrade to brembo's on the 05, its going to cost u a couple grand, so go for the 04 if thats the case.. if ur thinking about modding i believe the 04 is more of a modding car but the 05 is nice as well..

Brembos will give you much better braking when there is alot of heat present, ie hot brakes, brake fade, etc... they dont just stay cooler....i would much rather have brembos and not have to check my oil every other day than just 18hp...but thats just me.

i couldn’t tell the difference in brakes... i have an 05 6MT and drove an 04 6MT and the brakes feel about the same... and yes i drove the 04 hard...

+ 05 has nicer interior and more hp... 04 the brakes cost an arm and a leg for maintenance and brake dust FTW

EDIT: Nevermind... I re-read your post.

If you're looking to track the car- Get a 350Z

OK, I can no longer respect your techie opinions

J/K. But honestly, if you can't tell the difference in feel from the Brembos to the 05 brakes, then there is something wrong. They are night and day in terms of feel.

I bought my 04 at the end of 04 when the 05s were already out. Not to save money, but because I wanted the Brembos.

IMO, 05 was a weird year for the G: it got the new engine (dubious at best due to its oil consumption issues and no real perfromance increase), upgraded interior (to some degree) and 19s (which still need to be upgraded to aftermarket wheels to do it right).

But the 05s didn't get the updated headlights, bumpers, side skirts etc of the 06/07 and they got heavier and crappy Bridgestones instead of Pilot Sports.

And, no matter how much you dress up an 05, it just doesn't look the part unless you get an aftermarket brake set up.

For me, I'd go 04, expecially if there is a price cut for it.

tough decision indeed. For me I'd get the 04 because I love the Brembos and I'm paranoid about oil consumption.
