Black/Smoked Corners

Does any one know where I can find black corners for the G coupe?....I have a black G and I think black corners look better than clear
Thanks in advance

Re: Black/Smoked Corners

I bought some tint for $10 at a local autoparts store and applied two layers onto my stock corners. The light still shines through, and is still orange. But in the daytime it looks smoked.

I tried the spray can route, but I couldn't get a uniform coat onto the plastic, and then it ended up being too dark.

Hey E_K,

Are those the stock Brembos you have there?
Did you paint them? If you did, can you tell me what paint you used as well as where did you get the Brembo sticker?

I ask all these questions assuming these are the stock ones of course....

No, they're not stock. I bought them off ebay in almost brand new condition. I did touch up a few chips with red paint. I used red paint that's used for RC car lexan bodies. It was a very very close match to the original red paint, and it has held up to the heat very well.

You mean for the calipers? They were just under $700. The tint for the sidelights was $10.

You added the rotors too, how much for the whole set up? The tints not but either, how well does it reflect at night?

Re: Black/Smoked Corners

Don't know if this is the application you are looking for but check out my homepage. I used a see through adhesive vinyl and spray painted it black and clear coated.
Good thing is that's it's easily removed and has the transparency so that your blinkers are still visible at night but smoked during daylight hours.

go to G35/Z light vinyl

I met him at the Duarte meet and he said he was working on a vinyl set for the G...looked awesome on his Z

Re: Black/Smoked Corners

hard to tell from the pics but the description sounds pretty similar to mine. I wonder if his goes under the light lens or if its a topical application ? I like his reverse lights, I'm gonna steal his idea and use up the rest of my extra vinyl !

Re: Black/Smoked Corners

the reverse are the best ones when it comes to looks imho. and they are topically applied. they are already a smoked color (match my tint but pictures on the site was before my tint job). no painting involved and easy to remove.

before i got my tint applied, i also took some scraps and overlayed my 3rd brake light (not shown on the site)

Re: Black/Smoked Corners

how do you keep the vinyl from coming off when you wash it or when it rains ? Don't the edges pull up?

Re: Black/Smoked Corners

i always apply gentle pressure when washing the light housings because the housings seem to get swirls easily anyway. all my overlays are holding up except for a tiny corner coming up at the rear edge of the passenger sidemarker. that was my fault when i was excessively cleaning the fender wall.

i don't want to give the impression that these are fragile or would wipe off or start peeling any time soon, i occasionally have the hose full blast around those parts.
