g35 riim upgrade problems

I have a g35 coupe and I just put 20s on. Will it affect the odom.. and what other problems can happen. I noticed a change in the trans. It seems sometimes when i accelerate that it goes in Neutral then back to drive. It’s making a high rev noise but not taking up speed. Thank you

Sounds more like a trans issue that a wheel issue

If you put 20's on make sure you check the window motors too as rims affect that as well.

tire sizes?

I bet you have something like 245/35/20 / 275/30/20 which will do that since it messes with the VDC...

He means that since your front wheel plus tire height is higher than your rear wheels plus tire height your VDC may be kicking in placing the car in safe mode for a split second. You would know if this was happening though because your VDC light would come on and you wouldn't be able to rev the engine. It really just sounds like your transmission is slipping which would have nothing to do with the wheels. If you have an auto I'd take it to the dealer and have it checked especially if you're under warranty. If you have a manual it's best to start researching some aftermarket clutch/flywheel combos.

^ +1

Your rear tire diameter is small than the front. its supposed to be the other way around.

Your VDC system is sensing this, and is cutting off power to try and compensate for the false wheel spin.

You may have to change out the fronts to a diameter closer to stock.

Good luck

You owe me a keyboard.

Tea through my nose isn't very ladylike.
(...not to mention what it does to my typing)

This is exactly what I have. I've driven for 2+ years without anything happening. It's not your tires and rims.
