Washington D.C. anyone? I need your help

Hey guys, I'm going to intern on Capital Hill. I'm applying for a fellowship to pay for my living costs and I have a few quick questions:

(1) Approx. how much would it cost to sublet a 1BR in NW D.C.?
(2) How much is the metro?
(3) How much do you think it would cost for groceries for someone who's cooking 7 days a week, 2 meals a day for a month?
(4) How much would the average gas/electricity utilities cost?
(5) Most importantly, Should I bring the G35?

Thanks for all your help! If you guys know anyone who's subletting or wants to rent out their apartment for 10 weeks, (June-Aug) please give me the heads up. And if I do bring the G35, i'd definitely attend the regional meets!

Well i just figured that living expenses are different from state to state. Especially with NYC's overinflated prices. Anyway, this is going to be the first time that I won't be splitting my expenses with someone else, so the math is all skewed. I hear what you're saying though. And yea, my g35 is just like an AMEX...I don't want to get either stolen! I'm just worried about finding parking on capital hill

Congratulations!
I can give you figures for Silver Spring, MD (right on the NW DC line).

1. Approx $1K for an all utilities included apartment (you may be able to find a room or basement for rent a little cheaper)
2. I really don't take public transportation, but the website is $1.20 - $3.60 at peak times. http://www.wmata.com
3. Depends on what you like to eat $200 maybe
4. Nothing in an all utilities incl. place, but otherwise about $150
5. Bring the G, but don't drive it into DC (DC is No Fault, the streets are horrible and parking is worse).

Hope I helped.

You can come hang out with us (The Capital G Club, 128 members and counting) while you're in town. I'm sure we can show you some of the better roads in NoVA. When you get into town PM me with your contact info and I'll throw you on our distribution.
