i got into an accedent with my civic(which led to me geting my g35), some lady cut me off and i had about 6k worth of damage on my car and the average cost for a 98 civic was about 4500. so it was totaled anyway, the lady's insurance gave me 4500 which i was pretty happy about because a friend of mine crashed his and they only got 3200 for his same year and everything. i thought they were going to fix it at first so i handed it over to the body shop, then they call me saying they're totaling it and taking it away. i had everything still on there(4k worth) and they let me go up to where they were holding it and i was able to take everything off(i had to do so in the dirt which was kind of sketchy). overall i had a good experience with my insurance(AAA). i only talked to her insurance(mercury) so i can give them "my side of the story" and after that i only talked to AAA.

about the repainting thing i asked the insurance what i could do about just repainting my whole car and they said i would have to talk to the body shop and i would have to work something out with them. ive had a couple of friends who got into accedents where the quoter said they would just repaint the whole car with the price quote they gave them(considering they only had rear bumper damage) so i would recomend trying to just talk to the body shop and convince them.

anyway, hope things work out for you and you dont have to pay that deductable(i was lucky and had mine waved almost right away) gl with the g.

 

it looks totaled to me, they totaled my bros rsx; it had about the same damage in the front minus the rear damage

The front is just basically the hood, the back is a fender & bumper.

I'd bet they fix it.
