Wheels Question! rx300/g35

hey everyone, i would like to say thank you now to anyone who is willing to reply to this thread and help. I am kinda new and havent made any mods yet to my g35, but im getting a set of rims from a friend for free, and wanted to know if they would fit my G. He has a pair of chrome foose df-5 dubs on his rx-300 and is buying 21's. he said i can have his rims if they fit, but since his tires are for trucks, i cant get them on my g. obviously i would have to buy new tires to even atempt this, but does anyone know if this would work, or are the bolt patterns different? thanx again to anyone who is willing to respond. =)

They're both 5-114 bolt pattern. What size are the wheels?

they are chrome 20 foose df-5. he put like this redicliously little chip on one wheel and he refuses to rock them anymore. and since i just got my G (black 6spd ) he wants to see them on my car anyway. looks like everything is a go! =) thankyou for the reply. any suggestion on tires and suspension? my friend is a huge fan of yokohama avs sports. and as far as suspension, its up in the air, either coilovers or air ride.

I have Nitto NeoGens on my 20s and would definitely recommend them. I put my oem tires and wheels back on during winter and the difference with the Nitto's is amazing (noise, ride and a ton more traction). They are all season but aren't great for wet traction but neither is a rwd car. Nitto NT555 are real nice summer tires but I would recommend all seasons for rain even if you are changing your wheels in the winter (dont know your location). My opinion for All seasons:1. Nitto NeoGen 2.Bridgestone Potenza RE960as pole position 3. Yokohama ADVAN S4 // Summer:1. Nitto NT555 2. Bridgestone RE050A pole position 3. Yokohama ADVAN Sport.....Just my opinion from reviews I've seen and from what I know you would be happy with any of the tires above. If you are gonna go with Yokohama's go with either of the two listed. I think you'll be happier with them than the AVS sports (even though the AVS sports have a cooler looking tred design)

Forgot to answer the suspension question....as far as coilovers or air ride it completely depends on how you're doing your G. If you want a high performance ride with real good handling go with the coilovers. If you want a sick show car that you can drop on the ground when you pull in a parking lot go with the air ride.

So, as far as performance goes, air ride is a bad idea? i was looking at a kit, and it seemed like a good idea, im at stock height right now, and ive already scrpaed my bumper twice, ive had this car 4 weeks now, and thought if i had air ride, i can go to a performance height when im racin on the streets, but i could pick up the front end when i find that impossible driveway someday, or the speed bump from hell.

i went to a shop today to talk to someone about taking my friends 20 inch foose df-5 off his rx-300 and putting them on my g-35 and the guy said i couldnt do it. i know the bolt pattern is the same, but other than that, what else would i have to worry about?

1. where in jersey are you located? 2. if u can find out the offset of the rims we can tell u if they will be straight or not. more likely than not they wont be a good rim for your car. I say takem, sellem and buy urself a brand new set of shoes.

width, offset and if they are staggered. You dont really need a specific width but its nice to have wider wheels, if the offset is too high you might need spacers because they either wont clear your brakes or they will be super tucked, also the G favors a staggered wheel setup meaning the width of the front wheels needs to be smaller than the width of your rear wheels.

i think they are 9.5 all the way around, does that make a dramatic difference? these wheels are more for looks than anything else.. what are the stock wheels? im sure they arent smaller than stock. i mean i got these things for free. if they fit, they fit... period! i jus need some springs and some tires.. at least thats what im thinkin right now. i am central jersey right now, somerset county area, for anyone who has a clue what that is. right off rt. 22..
