burning oil problem

question on the oil consumption problem
I am from australia and I'm thinking of importing the JDM 350GT.
since nissan australia would not provide warranty on the vehicle, I want to find out if filling the engine with oil regularly is the way to go (at least in my case). or would i be experiencing problems later on if I just fill it up?
