45k service with brake pads (front) too expensive?

Hey guys,

Like the title says, I'm trying to do my 45k service at Cerritos Infiniti and they quoted me $250 for just the service. I then asked about changing the front brake pads and they said it'll be $340. That gives me a total of roughly $650 after tax just for these 2 services.... Does this seem kinda high? What would you guys recommend me doing? Are there other shops around the area that could do it for far cheaper?

That is very high. Most local place will change your brakes for under $200 a pair (parts and labor).

Ya OEM. I haven't changed them on my G yet but I plan to change them myself. There are many DIY online about changing brakes. OEM brake pads themselves should cost no more than $70 for a pair. On my last car I had the brakes replaced at a 76 car wash and car service. One in Whittier charges $180 per pair i believe. Its called Pacific Auto Spa.

I got my oem front brakes for $120 (parts & labor). I didn't get my rotors resurfaced because 1) They weren't warped, and 2) Infiniti advises not to resurface them because it will compromise the braking power. Yeah they're trying to make an extra buck. But honestly you can tell if your rotors are warped everytime you brake. In any case, it's an additional $40 to resurface for a total of $160.

Located on the east side of San Gabriel Blvd, about 3-4 business after the Jack in the Box. Drive slowly because there's not a freaking huge sign. Walk-ins are fine on a Saturday. They have the pads in stock and do a quick service. Good thing about Asian mechanics...they don't charge tax if you pay cash!

doesn't seem too high for the dealer. my brembos were replaced, and the 45k service, for just under $800 (previous owner paid)

My mechanic charges $175 for Brembo pads, not including labor. Labor's no more than $50.

I bought my own parts (pads and rotors) from www.everythingg35.com and had a local shop install it all for $180.

You could go to a Nissan dealership, remember to go over the worksheet with
the service writer. It depends how many aftermarket mods you have as to
what might be needed. Do you need an oilchange, if not scratch it off the
list. Get the idea? Aftermarket wheels/tires wearing fine forget rotation and
alignment....understand? You might need drivetrain service or gas/cabin filters that's the important items.
