That's how you test the brake booster (the power part of power brakes), not ABS.

Yes, you're right. The dealership will not go out of its way to fix your brakes after you put on aftermarket pads and rotors (not that it's a bad thing to replace with aftermarket). But, like other people said, it probably just needs a good bleeding. Replace all your brake fluid now, since it should be changed every now and then due to water absorption.

2fast - maybe you bought crappy brake pads (you mentioned you have 'aftermarket' pads)? Also the OEM pads on the 03-04 were really soft and extra brakey.

My navigation doesnt display any notifications. My 04 G35 would tell you when your fuel is low, problem with ABS,etc, This one doesnt show anything like that.. is this normal..
There's a fuel gauge and ABS warning light in the cluster in front of your face near the speedometer and tachometer.

having similar issues with brembos on my 04. actually i hear a ratcheting noise coming from rear of engine on passenger side, probably the brake booster or master cylinder. also feel a click/ratcheting through the brake pedal. this is only on decceleration, only when not on gas pedal.
