uhm...I thought the Z06 had 405 horses...not 450. With a supercharger and some exhaust mods, z06's should be beatable...but you never know so mod your car and race one. Of course, that's at the track, not street racing. =)

Re: Corvette hunting with 450+ BHP!

Supercharger with intercooler, catback, headers, even with the CAI will never show a 450rwhp at the dyno sheet. Usually stock 6MT has around 230-240rwhp, then we are talking about 210 hp gained at the wheel here! sorry, but it's not gonna happen with a SC and exhaust and header mods. 450HP at the crank? maybe... but 450rwhp on your dyno sheet? no way. Either way, even with 370rwhp, you may be able to beat the Z06.

I find it hard to believe you actally have 450 horse power. With that much power you would have to make drivetrain modifications and not to mention with the Stillen Stage II and exhaust there is no way you cranking out 450. With the mods you have "installed" I would guess the most power you have at the crank is 400hp.

Re: Corvette hunting with 450+ BHP!

Last I checked the stillen s/c is a roots type blower and adds a lot move power undert he curve than a centrifugal blower. This means even with ONLY 350 whp, you will be potentially faster then the guys with the vortech and ATI blowers hittin 380 whp.

Also, last i checked the stillen dyno numbers were for the NON intercooled version of the blower. The intercooled version should be at least 350 whp, depending on actual boost obtained. The headers are actually gonna drop you max boost level (this is good and better for the engine) YOu will still make good power but you will be flowing more efficiently and not peaking as high.

and yes 450 crank hp is easily attained. 400 whp is about the max you will see with a SC and some increased boost.

450 whp is the realm of the Twin turbo guys.

360HP is what most Z06's dyno at stock. Considering the G is at ~400-500lbs disadvantage, I don't think 370rwhp in a G will take it. Considering it takes about <$2k to add another 50+rwhp to a Z06 and that most enthusiast Z06 owners mod the hell out their cars, I wouldn't go Z06 hunting with just a blower.

I don't know where you live, but I'm assuming its somewhere near Stillens shop? Well, I'm about 15 minutes from Stillens shop, with a bone stock Z06 waiting for you. On the track of course.

Nothing hostile - just a fun race. I'm kindda curious what your car will do.

Assuming your car hits 450hp at the crank, the numbers say it would be a close race based on power to weight ratio:

stock '02 Z06, 405 hp, 3110 lbs. = 7.68 lbs. per hp
S/C G35, 450hp, 3,435 lbs. = 7.63 lbs. per hp

That's REALLY close.

One recommendation: with 450hp you need to seriously upgrade your tires to get that power to hook up. The stock 18" tires aren't nearly wide enough for that much power. Put it this way, my Z06 tires in the rear, stock, are 18" 295's, runnig Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars (very sticky street tires), and traction is a major problem in 1st and 2nd gear. In fact, I often can't use full throttle in 1st gear cause all it will do is light the tires up, even from a rolling start.

Get the traction down though, and you definitely have a good chance of winning, although it should be close.

Does anyone know what gear ratio the G35's have? The Z06 has 3.43's - just wondering if the G35's are similar.

I for one believe you and trust the input you posted. Keep us in touch with dyno numbers, etc,.

The Z06/Coupe/FRC/Verts have 3:42 getrag rears, not 3:43. The difference is in the tranny. The Z has an M12 tranny vs. the Coupe/FRC/Verts MN6. The M12(Z-tranny) has lower 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th gear ratios. 4th gear is the same.

Gear M12 3.42 3.73 3.90 4.10 M6 3.42 3.73 3.90 4.10 4.33 4.56
First 2.97 10.16 11.07 11.58 12.18 2.66 9.10 9.92 10.37 10.90 11.52 12.13
Second 2.07 7.08 7.72 8.07 8.49 1.78 6.09 6.64 6.94 7.30 7.71 8.12
Third 1.43 4.89 5.33 5.57 5.86 1.30 4.45 4.85 5.07 5.33 5.63 5.93
Fourth 1.00 3.42 3.73 3.90 4.10 1.00 3.42 3.73 3.90 4.10 4.33 4.56
Fifth 0.84 2.87 3.13 3.27 3.44 0.74 2.53 2.76 2.89 3.03 3.20 3.37
Sixth 0.56 1.92 2.09 2.18 2.30 0.50 1.71 1.87 1.95 2.05 2.17 2.28

We won't even go into the A4...

And the G with 450 crank HP will not beat a stock Z. It will not get spanked, should be a good race up to 130 or so.

Congrats and having 450 in a G will be alot of fun. Pick on cars more it's speed like M3's, etc.

I dont think anyone was trying to bomb on his post... they were just correcting him there is no way you will see 450hp with all those mods.. and i think Someone posted long time ago about how most after market headers tend to make you lose hp... Like everyone else said... Good Luck but you wont see 450 hp with headers intake exhaust and s/c.. And dont do ricer math get some DYNO's for us!

Ricer math - ROFLMAO!!!

That's too funny

I've come across a lot of Supra owners or Supra wannabe owners who have master's degrees in ricer math

Re: Corvette hunting with 450+ BHP!

Yeah sorry bro, but there is no way in the world you will get 450hp to the wheels with those mods. First of all, Stillen's SC is the weakest out of all of them. Why did you pick that one? Besides that hood cowl thing looking so ugly. Like a couple of people said already, go to www.my350z.com and read their forced induction section over there. People who have the stillen are getting nowhere near as much power as the Vortech, ATI or the twin turbos. They also have the intercooler stillen. I think the highest I saw was 330hp to the wheels. Your headers and exhaust aren't going to give you 120hp. lol Some of the guys with the TT's are hitting 400+hp to the wheels with 8psi.
