did anyone check out the ny auto show that started today?? any pics on the 2005 g35 coupe??? i thought it would be posted in the morning but its one oclock and nothing!!! i am so anxious i cant take it anymore...does anyone have anyone in ny that can take pics>??

 

I am going on Sunday. The show started at 11:AM EST - do you think someone was going to run to the show and run home to post pics? The show takes hours to see all.

really? i thought we would know how the 2005 g would look at this show.........so then how will we know? what is the next show it will appear at? would they at least give us a 100% guarantee what the changes will be? i read that previous thread that said it would have 300hp and revised interior etc is this "set in stone"

 

Why would they waste room on a moderate redesign? They are showcasing there new, fully remodeled line this show....the G is getting a minor interior change....remember...a couple buttons for seat memory arent show stopping, or worth the extra floor space.

you may be right, but i think some people who are considering the car would get a little bit more moved to those few buttons and not to mention they will be having access to 20 more hp (to now 300).....just my 2 cents

 

they want you to buy 2004's so they wouln't reveal the hp change right?

that would be a smart approach but if you think about it how will they let everyone know about their 2005 changes? i think 2004 sales are pretty strong so they dont need any more advertising for that but if a new upgrade comes out im sure they will want everyone to know and what better way to advertise than in a new york auto show???

 

This is all nonsense.....If your theories are correct why would Infiniti reveal the new M45 that isn't coming out for another year.??? wouldn't they want to sell the current M? Why would Nissan reveal a new Xterra? Why would Jeep reveal the new Cherokee??

I believe the changes to the G aren't going to be dramatic at all. The idea that they aren't revealing it to sell current models makes no sense and completely defeats the purpose for a car show.

First rant.....

If seat memory is gonna seriously deter someone from buying the most beautiful car on the road right now, ill laugh in there face as I drive by in my G. Seat memory is over rated, I havent had a complaint about not having it yet. Oh and I wash my own car (I cant justify putting my beautiful car through a mechanical front license plate and paint eater, err the car wash), no one but me drives it, and it's yet to go in for service. And if readjusting your seat is THAT big of a deal, sell your G and sit at home, your too lazy to drive anyway.

20 more hp? Try 4-7 with a nice "300 hp bracket" attachment. Car companies are allowed to adjust there cars HP claims up to 15 hp (I believe). Hyundais do this with EVERY car. Think about it.....a G with a Z tube...287 hp....yet its within 15 hp of 300...your not getting 20 hp on the new model, youll get a Z tube and a false promise of more hp than you have.

So, in my mind, I love my 03.5. Seat memory? I have my own memory and if I'm uncomfortable, I have so many buttons to adjust my seat in so many differnt ways its amazing. The 20 more hp? I plan on putting a Z tube in anyway....

EX250 some people prefer memory seat over non memory seat chairs (heck, i'm pretty sure everyone on this forum would prefer memory over none memory) and it's just personal preference.

And maybe some of the G35 Coupe drivers or just people who are thinking about switching from their car to G35 are used to memory seats because the car they drove before had it and they like it that way. Is that so wrong?

It might be the fact that you never had a car with memory seat or maybe u had a car with memory seat but you didnt' ilke it, which ever the case, isn't it up to the owner of the car to decide? not you?

What you say about the HP is untrue. The only claims a car company can have to its horsepower is by using statistical proof. If every single one of their cars is at MOST 287hp, there is NO way they can state 300hp, legally. The governing officers would not allow such a thing. For example, our cars are advertised at 280hp. One car might have 1 or 2 less and one might have 1 or 2 more. Likewise, a bag of potato chips does not ALWAYS weigh exactly what the package states, but actually the average weight of a sample of bags. I would like to know where you got that information from.

It was actually in a previous post on this board. I used to drive a MB E320 for a few months before getting the G....I had memory seats....I think I used them once..... What Im saying is, look at the car you have, then ask yourself the same question I did.....Wheres the problem? Everyone seems to be posting with this general awe towards the "what if". Be happy with what you have. Just my $.02 though, dont mean to insult people, but seriously, we drive the most amazing car out there, and theres 10 differnt posts about memory seats and moving the volume buttons..... I dunno, I just dont see the big deal. As for the previous post that had that information, Ill try to find it, but I know I read that here or on the 350z forum in relation to the fact that all they have to do is get within 15 hp of 300 to claim thats what it has. Its considered the max allowed variation though, so what Im saying is, all they have to do to make a "300 hp coupe" is give it the Z tube.

2001 Mazda miata 155 claimed, 142 actual
Newer Hyundais with V6's are all overstated, and GM has admitted it
F bodys were understated, 310 claimed, ~330 actual
They dont have to be 100% accurate, just round about numbers, hence why I said, all it would take is a Z tube to jack the coupe to "300 hp"
