Passenger Side Rattle?

Passenger Side Rattle?
I have some sort of rattle coming from the passenger seat and sounds like it is coming from the seat belt area. It does not do it (or not nearly as bad) with a passenger riding. It only does it on a rough road or small bumps. I used the search function and the most common place is the seat belt but when driving I tried holding the seat belt and it was still doing it. Does any one have any advice? Thanks

i've had rattling in the area as well.... sometimes it's the seat belt. easy fix is to adjust the passenger seat forwards or back a little to let the belt hang. other times the rattle is actually coming from the rear quarter panel. took it to the dealer; took a tech for a test drive... found the rattle and fixed it (free of charge). they pulled the panel off and put foam behind it to stop it. seems to have worked. no more rattles.

Fish, it might help if you put the year and model of your car. Create a signature so that in future posts for any problems, people might be able to help you better. Some problems are related to the year and model of the car. If it's the rear quarter panel, there's a TSB for that. If you think it's coming from the passenger side; I'd check all around the passenger seat. Check the bolts holding the seat for tightness. Take the passenger seat belt; isolate it by securing it to the passenger seat without a passenger then drive around to and listen to if you still hear the rattle. Good luck.
