Car Wax used from Dealership??

A few weeks ago I picked my G35 coupe (Vancouver, BC) and I didn't bother with the extra protection package (undercoating etc..), as I do plan to get this done thru a professional detail shop.

The car did come with a coat of wax, does anyone know what type of wax dealerships put on (during car prep) or was this done from Nissan Japan? I'm curious if it's a cheap wax that will last only a very short time?

No, they wax it for you at the dealership, that's part of "prepping" the car for delivery. Usually, they just use some regular car wax like Meguiar's or something and it gives good protection but for only like 3 months. I think they do it to give the car that "new car shine"...just use a bottle of Dawn the next time you wash your car. It will get rid of ALL the dealership wax and you can wax it the way you want.

The "extra protection package" is more commonly known as the "lining the dealerships pockets package".

Don't go to a "professional detail shop". Do it yourself. Order some Klasse or NXT and spend an afternoon bonding with your automobile. Oftentimes pro detailers are a bit heavy handed with the buffer. Who cares most about your car? You. If you want something right...
