Re: Powerwashing...

I washed mine at the carwash last night for the first time. Noticed some water getting in the windows. I had this question as well?

Re: Powerwashing...

You should be able to. As long as you have some type of wax on there. Because when you power wash, you drive the dirt into your paint. That's why when you powerwash, never spray directly, try to aim horizontally. Nevertheless you will notice it will be much harder to clay the car because of the powerwashing rather than handwashing.

Re: Powerwashing...

I went through the automated one (with the blue sponge cloth stuff hanging down) and it damn near tore my license plate off.

Re: Powerwashing...

Your lucky it didn't do any damage to your rims.....
I know many people hear have horror stories of their rims
getting scratched on the metal runner/guides........

I would be afraid to powerwash my car.....I think a good strong stream from your garden hose will do a good job on cleaning any dirt/mud off the bottom of the car...........

Re: Powerwashing...

I see your point about the runners, but this one just had an elevated slotted tire guide with no side rails at all. Zero chance of rim damage. 75% chance of getting your license plate torn off. It just has too much overhang. I'm going to put a $30 chromed brass license plate bracket and see if that helps. Hopefully it won't tear off the whoe assembly. I really need a way to wash off the grime when it's too cold to wash it by hand.

Re: Powerwashing...

I believe I got a scratch on my rim from the laserwash myself. By the time I noticed it, I wouldn't have been able to claim it or bitch about it. I really need to stick with washing my G myself.
