He may be hurt, but regardless, he made a stupid business decision and took on a task that he wasn't able to complete within the agreed-upon time frame nor specifications. Complete and utter lack of communication (including deleting emails) lead to severe speculation, and now it's "damage control" time.

I haven't read many of the posts regarding this, but when I met Ducatiguy at a meet a month ago, he said he would make these at cost as a favor to forum members. I may be missing something, but he didn't seem like the type to rip someone of on the forum for a couple bucks. My vote is 100% with Ducatiguy and I wish him the best.

Yeah, you can look at the choices several ways...here are the meanings I see from each:
1 - He's completely guilty, and obviously trying to aviod everyone.
2 - He's somehow incapacitated, and Maverick probably isn't his #1 priority at the moment.
3 - There's some inhuman explanation that will prove that it's definitely not Ducatiguy's fault.
4 - Somewhere in the middle. Something obviously happened to Ducatiguy, and he has a good reason to be missing, but he probably should have found a way to explain something to Maverick for the time being.

I am tempted to Lock ALL the Threads until we hear from him. To me it wouldn't be worth the couple of bucks to have my name dragged through the mud. So I am giving him the benefit of the doubt until SOMEONE can prove otherwise.

Wow. To think you can build that much credibility by making a few good posts...
I'll think about that if I ever decide to go into the scamming business. Probably make several grand before everyone is convinced that I am a thief. I could probably then come back and apologize and do it again for a while! The endless possibilities!

Okay, I've said some unfair things about Ducatiguy, which are speculative I suppose... I have my suspicions but they might be wrong.
In principle Merlin is absolutely right that Ducatiguy (or anyone in his shoes, in this kind of situation) should be innocent until proven guilty, and that he should get the benefit of the doubt... those are after all basic principles of civilized law.
So I would agree with that, in principle. But unfortunately none of that changes the fact that poor Mav is out some cash and is on his nth week of driving a grill-less car...
