The G just has tight steering, it'll soften up as the car gets older, but tight is a good thing

Try putting a smaller pully on your power steering pump.

This probably does not apply but you could research more and look... Back in the mid 80's Nissan, Toyota, Mitsu, Mazda brands had pressure adjustment on the PS pump dump valve. People would come into the dealer and say the steering was to hard or turning was too easy and we adjusted there; it was easy.
I have not been a line mechanic since 1988 so I do not know if this is still the case.
Just a thought.

I personally love the stiffer steering on the G. Makes me feel more connected to my car's maneuvering compared to my '95 Accord. It shouldn't be so stiff that you can't steer it with one hand though.

I think this is the trade-off in the Z/G35 platform. The tight steering at high speeds gives you that precise handling. The trade-off is heavy steering at slow speeds like parking the car and such.
