I think 20 HP is almost exactly what the Crawford plenum adds at the HP peak. Maybe they're redesigning the OEM plenum for the G only since it was the 350Z that had the hood height limitations, not the G. If so, current owners could probably retrofit the new part and get the HP boost too...

 

Maybe not in 2005, but down the road, do you figure Infiniti will develop a high-performance designation for their model lines... like the AMG Benzes or the M3, M5... the Boxter "S", Audi S's etc.?

From a marketing point of view, that's always been a winner-move for automakers, plus they get to make certain halo cars that strengthen the brand. So there would be higher-performance versions of the FX sport ute, G coupe/ sedan, M sedan? If they did that, they would give sales a big boost without needing to make a full model change. It would make sense to debut that with a 300 hp G coupe. Then later do a version of the G sedan, the M sedan and the FX45.

I have no idea if any of that is possible... I'm just wondering out loud.

Uhm...I believe that new high performance model will be the GTR coming out in whatever year nissan wants to because the set date always changes. Also, if they do increase power to 20more hp...that won't be too hard to change our current cars, but headlight changes? If they add projector lights to the 05's...oh man am I going to be mad...why couldn't they do that from the beginning? The 350z and Maxima have projectors(im sure other nissan/infiniti cars do but can't think of more) and the G doesn't? Sucks big time. Also, those lights are probably going to be expensive. Oh well...I'll have to keep telling myself that my stock lights look "decent"

there will be a new version of 350z coming out!
they got the spy shot of the car
the tail light looks like g35 tail light
the car is around 108mm longer
with 20hp more and 600rpm more till red line
and it will be call the emotion version! type E
better design on suspension with 19inch rims

i saw that magazine in a bubble tea place
i will try take a pic of it with my phone later on!

they said that nismo work with nissan to make that extra
20hp and the 600rpm

so... there maybe a new version of g35 too!
since those tail lights looks so much like our
G lights
it is just a bit round off

 

That Z is only going to be offered in Japan for the time being but there are rumors and speculations (more like people hoping) that it will come stateside.

My guess is that the 05 will have about as major of changes as the 03-04 did. Maybe some little technological upgrade (04 has the tire pressure monitor) cosmetically (04 has the black tinted headlights .. some earlier models are chrome)... 04s have chrome valve stems and valve stem caps (I don't think the 03s have it). Stupid little differences such as that...I think the 04 cd changer was revamped. Also in late 04 models they have the new front trigger shift **** design.

So I wouldn't look for anything major in 05 but do expect little things.

Extreme cosmetic changes to such a popular car doesn't make sense biz wise.

Lexus announced their "L-Tuned" versions of their cars about 4 years ago but its still yet to surface, so I wouldn't hold my breath for Infiniti. But maybe now that the Lexus badge is going to start selling in Japan we'll see more from them.

UGH....rumours, innuendo and heresay....lol....

This is what we've heard at Infiniti (on the retail end): ZIP!!! NADA!!! NOTHING!!!

Now...there will be a VQ powered M35 coming in at 300 HP....we're still sending out feelers to see what's different about the tuning of that powerplant...and when I find something out, I'll post.

As far as getting 300 out of a VQ series....it isn't tough...NISMO plans on using a VQ-powered 350Z in the JGTC and will get 500 RWHP using the standard block.

i think the rumor maybe true......when the current bmw 3 series came out in 2000 (i think)....every year the car had some minor changes here and there...sometimes new wheels, new bumper, etc....all im going to say is if the 05' is going to have 300 bhp....they better offer it at infiniti parts and 03-04 shouldn't lose warranty when upgraded with that part....
