Re: calling KKH713 !!!!

You sent more than one. I test drove a TL-S in my research phase. Funny they point to the Infiniti's inferior interior, when the Acuras are slightly warmed-over Hondas. The driver's seat wasn't even comfortable to me in the TL. Plus, when I mashed the go pedal, it just didn't put a smile on my face. Only two cars managed to do that.. G35 and 330i. Nobody knocks the BMW interior, but have you noticed that you get a black dashboard and black seatbelts with any color interior? The black seatbelts on the beige and gray interior looked cheaper to me than Infiniti's titanium dash.

And in the middle of the performance bashing, what's with the knocking of the Nav systems? Personally, I think the Bird's Eye view is great for seeing more of what's coming up ahead and being zoomed-in at the same time.

I'd post my rant in their forum, but it would fall on deaf ears there, and I don't feel like wasting the time signing up.

Re: calling KKH713 !!!!

BWAHAHA called that dude a BC bud head. I remember now you called the accord people crack feens. Thanks for the laugh KKH.

seeing our forum and the acura CL forum I've learned a valuable lesson. people have too much pride in the manufactures of the car they drive. they broke 99atlanta too. he got bent over and jammed in the *** jk.

but really I'm glad I've gotten away from the Honda fad and tried a Nissan. Rear wheel drive is so much better, the VQ engine is so much better then B, H or any Honda motor I've driven. PHUK FD, I'll never buy another front wheel drive car again, so restricting. It's like auto vs. manual. Track or street, I don't care where your driving, RD will always be funner and better to control.

they keep saying the orange inteior lighting is gay? I don't get that, what color is their gauges? Is it like the new accords rainbow brite scheme? That is one ugly stick shift too, bigger isn't always better but they can have fun sitting on that.

Re: calling KKH713 !!!!

isn't it funny how honda people always talk about "when vtec hits" blah blah. They always gives me an impression that it's some kind of nos for Hondas. I don't really live up all the hype. I think there are better system out there and I think it's just one of those marketing strategy by honda. I agree it does give certain boost of power but I don't believe it gives the "ultimate" power like many honda/acura owners always talk about. Yes I did drove powered by honda cars before and I know how vtec feels like. But just don't really impresses me. just my .02

Re: calling KKH713 !!!!

If they would have actually driven the competing vehicles to TL or CL type S, than maybe they would have better educated opinion. They also need to brush up on all the facts/features list. Memory seats for one...I believe I have them in the sedan. But the real point I want to make here is the understanding of what power "is" or the difference therein. Two complety different motor concepts and belief systems on how/where to create HP. The Type-S is a HP Heavy/Torque Light free breathing motor...as in pulls like hell when you keep it at or above 5000 rpm (check the dyno- power curve grows fastest here. The Nissan/Infiniti is a Torque Heavy/HP match concept as in pushes like hell for 3500 RPM on. Now apply the facts- the goal of Road Racing of any kind it to keep the engine speed within the heart of the "powerband." It doesn't matter if your pulls at 7K and mine does not. I am not going to drive it there...I shift to keep the motor in the most advantageous portion of the powerband for the gear I am in. And this boys and girls is why they invented 'Heel to Toe' driving....Type S boys.

Time to step of the soap box....

Re: calling KKH713 !!!!

The VQ engine is missing another wonderful piece of Honda engineering.

Timing belt.

I'm rather bummed. My G35 has a timing chain. Now I don't get to rip the engine open and swap out a belt every 60-80k miles.

Re: calling KKH713 !!!!

ryoken, thats good to know that we have timing chains instead of belts, my brother's old nissan stanza has also has timing chain..more reliable I guess, my friend's mitsu eclipse turbo timing chain broke at 60K miles and the whole engine need to be replace, scary sh$t..

Re: calling KKH713 !!!!

Only downside to timing chains it seems is noise, but I'll still take a timing chain over a belt any day.

I don't know about you, but any "noise" the VQ35 makes is music to my ears.
