Ha, ha! I always nap on the turnpike exits after I downshift.

i bought a car 02 max that was manual and that forced me to learn stick. haven't and will not go back to auto unless i get an escalade or a big body luxury car. the control is what I like about it and you can always work on things to improve your stick skillz. not much to master with auto, but I can see how some prefer it over stick. to each their own but I'm not going back to auto

git an auto. You can always use the tip_tronic, its just like a stick but wit out the clucth, plus clutchs burn up and shyt, you dont wanna deal wit dat, and then the stalling out, and it gits annoying after a while.

"automatic"

If you are looking for performance, the 5AT is not for you.... I have an auto with an intake, plenum Spacer, test pipes, HKS Exhaust, Turbo XS UTEC and a tune. I lost from a roll and a dig against a 6MT G with a Z-tube..... Over 1500 in performance mods on my auto against 40 bucks in performance mods on a manual... Auto FTL, i rest my case.

ive driven a manual car and now i have an 04 g coupe auto too and i love it. I can use the manual option when i need to downshift on the highway. And it revmatches for u too. I drive in traffic a lot so these options work for me. I agree with most of the people that you should try both and see what works for you.

go automatic....

Manual, the auto shifts faster than most people. Auto transmission can handle alot of power on our cars if you plan on doing performance upgrades. Manual clutches cost $$$ when you destroy them from performance upgrades. Besides most driving is stop and go nowadays and manuals get annoying. Especially if you have a heavy clutch pedal from a performance pressure plate.

Also how are you going to text, talk on your cell phone, eat a big mac, and input directions on your GPS and shift a manual at the same time???

NO one can shift as smoothly, quickly and efficiently as the G35 in S mode automatic. THe 0-6 and 1/4 mi differences in ETs is imperceptible compared to 6MT.

Maybe from a performance factor there isn't much difference. But after test driving both and going with the 6MT, I can tell you there is a big difference in the FUN factor. Clicking that auto stick forward to upshift just doesn't give as much pleasure to my driving.
