I SAY AGAIN
If you are looking for performance, the 5AT is not gonna cut it.... I have an auto with an intake, plenum Spacer, test pipes, HKS Exhaust, Turbo XS UTEC and a tune. I lost from a roll and a dig against a 6MT G with a Z-tube..... Over 1500 in performance mods on my auto against 40 bucks in performance mods on a manual... Auto FTL, i rest my case.

git an auto. You can always use the tip_tronic, its just like a stick but wit out the clucth, plus clutchs burn up and shyt, you dont wanna deal wit dat, and then the stalling out, and it gits annoying after a while.

With the manumatic mode in an auto, you still can only go up or down one gear at a time(as opposed to using a real shifter and finding whatever gear you want), you don't get to use manually actuated clutch, and you don't rev match on your shifts. Plus.. if you always downshift with manumatic mode to brake in the auto tranny, that's going to put a significant amount of additional wear on the tranny in comparison to the wear that it would put on a manual(assuming the manual driver actually knows how to rev match properly).

Try taking that manumatic from 6th to 2nd... Oh no wait, no 6th... OK, try from 5th to 2nd at 40mph; dang, can't do that either WTF?
Manumatic, triptonic, tip tronic, LOL, i've heard it all in this thread... Automatics are great for senior citizens and those handicapped folks who need them!

Also how are you going to text, talk on your cell phone, eat a big mac, and input directions on your GPS and shift a manual at the same time???

*A clutch is a wear item and costs way less than your destroyed 5AT; worst case scenario.
*Most driving is not stop and go, not even in Houston Texas where we have a few sections of road that have more traffic than any other city in the world; look it up.
*Also, you shouldnt be texting, or talking on your cell, or eating a big mac... But it's actually all easy if you want to.
All excuses not to have the ultimate fun... I'm not knocking the autos, just don't discourage the people asking because MT's are so much more fun, its worth arguing the point with you die hard AT drivers...
I used to like AT, before i learned how to drive stick. Once I went stick, I don't think i'll ever go back. Sticks have much more potential and driving in traffic is not as big as a hassle as people tend to complain about.
Nothing annoys me more than the AT guys saying that the "triptonic" is JUST like using a stick. They have absolutely no idea. They don't realize how much delay in shifting there is when using the automatic vs. the immediacy of shifting with an MT.
GRR....can we wrap this thread up and just say that the 6MT > 5AT, by far. I'm tired of hearing from the AT retards who don't want to learn how to drive a stick, so they try to defend their inferior transmission.
