I had a similar problem. I just purchased my car and the guy that delivered it said that the remote didn't work.
I went and purchased a battery installed it and seemed to work fine. For 6 minutes
Anyways the remote started to send bogus signals... locking the car when I put the battery back in. Then not working at all.
This is what I did and it's fixed the problem PERMANENTLY!
1. Take apart the remote as if you were to change the battery.
2. Remove the circuit board from the actual keypad and clean the copper contact points on the circuit board with an eraser.
3. Clean the rubber keypad and the plastic that goes inbetween the rubber and the circuit board in the same way with the eraser.
Give that a shot and let me know. Like I said since I've done it I haven't had an issue
