call around, you'll get different prices that are cheaper by about 200 to 300 dollars cheaper

you can go to any place that offers transmission service, but I don't mean a shade tree mechanic, I mean like Tires Plus or Nissan dealers. They all have the machines and the factory equivalent. Infiniti wants to charge $400 because they are using the over priced Jmatic fluid

I don't know how it is for auto transmission, but on my 03 Coupe 6MT I had it done every 10K or 15K and it was $90-$100 each time.

A complete AT fluid exchange will use about 17 quarts.

No it won't. The total capacity of the 5AT is 10 7/8 quarts.

I payed $65 for RedLine oils for the tranny and diff change from Summit Racing. If you know anyone that has access to a lift, changing the fluids won't take more than 30 mins. It's VERY easy!

You can do a fluid exchange yourself if you are a reasonably skilled do it yourself maintenance person. I posted a how to a couple months ago.

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...43#post2956143

You must use Nissan Matic-J (or J-matic) ATF fluid to maintain your warranty and keep your tranny from self destructing. The price is cheaper at Nissan dealers.

I also recommed installation of a Magnefine 3/8 inline transmission filter (also a good idea on the power steering line, BytheBay posted a how to on this). Get them from www.emergingent.com or www.bulkpart.com. These great Australian filters have been tested and approved by Ford and Toyota who sell them in their parts departments for double the price and use them on rebuilt and replacement transmissions (but not from the factory, that tells you something) I have them on all our vehicles.

The tranny fluid cooler return line to the transmission is the one on the driver side at the bottom of the radiator. Install the Magnefine on this line after you have used it for your fluid exchange.
