yes, it's the throttle body...it needs cleaning. Just becareful 'cause it's a sensitive part and might require a reset procedure. G/L

Which light came on exactly? And what was the code?

If you never checked what code was being thrown, and your car is still stalling, then I really don't know what to say...

bythabay has great DIY's....go through his list of link of DIY videos. BTW, I've only stated to becareful due to some people having bad luck with theirs and had to do the reset.

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/183421-diy-video-series.html

Although some suggested not to disconnect the harness and not to open and close the flap inside while cleaning it or else it may require the reset procedure(also shown on the DIY), I did everything that everyone else said not to do and mine came out perfectly fine. I didn't have to do any reset procedures, I guess I just got lucky

I believe the G35 uses NGK Iridium spark plugs

hope all is well with your car, but if your car throws an engine light again, take it to the dealer so they can tell you what code your throwing...

it the eng runs on a coldt start and stalls after ignition on a hot start, it could be the MAF sensor.

I have to agree, its more than just a dirty throttle body. I would put money on the Maf sensor. Pull the code that will tell the tail.

wow..after reading that i had a flashback to everytime it happened..always after the car had already been running and turned on from a hot start..when i took it to the place to get an oil change it turned on fine..when they turned the engine back on after putting the oil, it stalled. when i left work yesterday..turned on no problem. when i went to the store yesterday about 20 minutes after i got home..it stalled..you guys are exactly right..i dont think its going to throw codes since i reset the ECU last night. so if it is the MAF sensor..that happens now? does it have to be replaced or can it be cleaned? and more importantly..where is it located and how does it get removed and cleaned ! lol..

Success!!

well guys thanks to your help...i followed the youtube videos and removed the throttle body. it was DISGUSTING...completely black and it took me a good 20 minutes to clean it out to its normal shine. i put everything back together and i fired her up and WOW..it starts up stronger than before and the RPMs dont start off at the line above 0 it starts off normal again. i tried it out multiple times to turn it on while the engine was hot and perfect everytime! thanks so much for your help you guys def saved me a very expensive trip to the dealership.

glad it worked out...i felt the same way when i did mine. It was filty and full of carbon build-up.

What really gets me is that there's no warning signs of when it will happen, it just happens out of nowhere. If it ever happens again, there will be no doubt in my mind that it's the TB being dirty again. I usually only question the maf sensor only if it stalls while in motion or accelerating.

Did you remove the unplug the harness and/or moved the flap/valve inside?Did you have to do the reset thing?

yes i did have to unplug it. i took it off completely and went nuts on that thing cleaning every angle possible. yeah the video showed moving the valve to the side and cleaning it really good in there so i did exactly what he did. i literally had my laptop in the garage with me lol...nah i didnt do it cuz the rpms were perfect at idle. so i didnt want to mess with anything.
