Crush Washer
Kind of a NOOB question I guess. i just bought some Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 Oil filter on sale for my first oil change ('06 IP, cpe 6 spd). I noticed that the Nissan OEM filters come with a crush washer. Is it needed? My Mobil 1 filter didn't come with it.

Not needed, old one will work fine.

If it makes you sleep better at night, you can pick up a pack of like 10 crush washers at your local parts store for dirt cheap.

pepboys sells a package for like 2-3 bucks.

Yes they are needed. I was given one by the dealer and forgot to put it on when i changed my oil. The old washer has not given me any problems
