Drooling Over the Coupe

Last night, my wife and I went out to dinner with my brother and his girlfriend. As we pulled up to the restaurant on the beach I could not stop admiring the laser red coupe w/ the prem. & aero package. I immediately choose the table on the patio, just so I could have a good view of it (for the 2 hours that we were there, my wife kept kicking me everytime I looked over at the G.)

Even my brother fell in love w/ the car, he's thinking about getting it in the Caribbean Blue when his lease is up on his Acura RSX-S, and I want the DG.

Hehe, it all begins with the vision from the eye. Yeah the coupe was nicely built w/ lots of considerations at hand. Hope one day you will own one man!

Re: Drooling Over the Coupe

Haha yea I remember that one well. I was getting gas one day, and I didn't even see the car first, I heard it . I looked up and saw a black coupe with aero driving away, and I was like "wow, what is that??" He drove back by, and I saw the Infiniti emblem. Needless to say, I made a visit to the Infiniti dealership later that day

Re: Drooling Over the Coupe

The coupe that I saw was laser red. I am closing on my first house at the end of April. I promised my wife that I would not get the coupe till after we closed.

Re: Drooling Over the Coupe

heh sounds like a plan Rockman, maybe you should wait for the 2004's then??? From an investment standpoint, it is very bad to buy a car at the end of its production year.
anyway, maybe they will fix any small kinks or annoyances in 2004, but there is rumor that price will increase by 2 to 4% MSRP
I dont know when infiniti will be taking their first 2004 orders, maybe you should check into it with your dealership
Best of luck dude!

Re: Drooling Over the Coupe

A car should never be looked at as an investment. Unless you're talking about antiques and classics. It's not necessarily bad to buy at the end of the year. If you're leasing and turning in at the end, who cares what it's worth? If you're buying and keeping it for 5-7 years, it's going to depreciate so much that one more year won't matter much. If you're buying it and then selling it in 2 or 3 years, then you should consider leasing. Buying (or leasing) a car at the end of the model year can get you a break on the price, too, as they're clearing the floor for next year's models (which for G35's won't have any significant changes).

Bottom line, if you want the car, get one. There's always something new coming out next year.

Re: Drooling Over the Coupe

I am lucky enough here in Cali to be ab out 10 miles from Nissan's US headquarters in Torrance. I saw one many months ago in fact. Same exact color I got, Laser Red, wow!
I'm 25 and consider myself a kid still but the guy drivin this thing could have been 18. Man it was beautiful. I never got to participate in the Supra Mark IV craze that I was obssessed with for years. I was more than glad to hand it over this vehicle. It is truly like no other, my girlfriend also resents that fact with spite. She calls "her" my other cheating girl friend, ha ha it's so funny. On a side note, another brother story. As soon as my bro in Daytona, Fl. saw the pictures I sent him. He went out that weekend and ordered his in DG. The virus is spreding!

Re: Drooling Over the Coupe

I never really considered this car at first, after only having seen pictures of it. Even before doing more research, I just assumed that it was a 2+2 with unusable backseats like my 240sx. My friend, who's brother had just bought one, informed me that there was "plenty" of room in the back seat comparatively. Even then, I wasn't convinced. Until another friend had me look at one on the way to a restaurant we were going to. Man, the gang of LR, BS, and CB on the lot looked so beautiful, I fell in love right then and there. Ah, the memories.

LOL...I'd might do that if I didn't suck so bad at painting! Sounds like a project for that one artist on this board...forget his name...and too lazy to do a search.
