i would go with a stillen intake w/ a z tube, it makes a cool intake sound. thats what i have. a spacer to start, then headers and a high flow cat rather than down pipes so you don't throw a check engine light and you won't get the rasp sound. a hks exhaust if you could afford it, and if you don't mind the loud exhaust sound.

Factory Stillen filter?

The Stillen z-tube is the same thing as the OEM z-tube.

No it's not junk i'm actually buying the stillen filter and heat shield. It is much better than the JWT pop charger because the heat shield that comes with the JWT is crap. Stillen's covers much more which helps prevent heat soak

It's actually a little different... It has a slight curve and from what i've read the z-tube has some extra support

def get the 5/16 spacer, as far as the intake... go w/the z-tube and:

K&N drop-in(if ya want better performance)

Stillen(if ya want best performance + good sound + stock look)

JWT pop-charger(if ya want better performance + best sound + good looks)

don't worry about heat soak w/the JWT compared to the Stillen, the BIGGEST source of heat soak for the VQ is the huge 2-piece aluminum intake plenum. best way to fight that is iso-thermal upgrade from MD.

^^^okay, okay... just to clear things up on the Stillen Z-tube vs. Nissan Z-tube(OEM 350Z)

-Nissan Z-tube is a one piece intake pipe

-Stillen Z-tube only replaces the center baffled/resonator section of the three piece Infiniti G-Tube(OEM G35)
