I'm new to all of this and I've seen the Skyline/350gt badging and I was just wondering what is the relation between the G35 coupe and the Skyline, GT-R and 350 gt? I am guessing that it has something to do with the way the cars are named in Japan, I know that it's all Nissan branded there. But if someone could enlighten me , that would be sweet.

BTW, Top Gear did a feature on the GT-R last night and it was awesome. Last week featured the car as well but last night they took it around the track and it was number 7, all time, up there with the Ferrari Enzo, Koenigsegg CCX Pagani and Zonda F, cars that cost 4, to over 10 times as much as the GT-R. Awesome car to say the least.

They're all made by nissan, and the engine's have the same bore.

Other than that... they're not really related.

The GT-R existed before the Skyline GT-R was made, and the GT-R is no longer a skyline.

the G is a V35/V36 skyline.

Skyline GT-Rs are R32/R33/R34 skylines.

Why is my question stupid? Not everyone is a JDM historian. Sorry, I bow down before you

I was only wondering why some people badge their cars as Skyines and 350 gts? I personally think it looks cool and was wondering how the different cars are all connected and if there was an actual 350 gt model in Japan. I come from owning 2 Audis and am more versed in Euro cars than JDM stuff. But thanks for helping me out by calling me stupid.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I would ask another question but I don't want to offend anyone here with my ignorance.

Infiniti and Nissan were to Different Companies. Nissan Brought into Infiniti, so its all the Same. For what ever reason then decided to Design a Sports/Luxury Coupe which we know of today as A G35 in America. They turn around and sell the same exact thing to Japan As a Nissan Skyline, idk what they were thinking. SO due to the fact that A G35 is an Import anyway, "cool Kids" such as myself, because im a cool kid, go for the complete Import look. Nah Mean. There the Same car just Called something else in a Different Place, Like Languages, when your in America and ref. to something in an english word but when your in another country you'll say a different word but its the same thing, catchin on....

Its all a racket if you ask me

Awesome. That's all I wanted to know. I appreciate that, dude.
