Re: I think M-B may be jelous of infiniti :)
I prefer the G because I can actually afford the G.

If I could afford the Mercedes, I would still buy the G and spend the piles of extra cash on a gigantic home theater and a boat.

But if I had a choice of two prize cars, I would take the Mercedes. The Mercedes isn't worth the cash difference, but I'm not going to be happy the day I cease being the only guy on the block with a G35. Maybe it's time to spread some negative press about the G, without tarnishing the image of the car.

*Ahem* Oh God, I am having terribly expensive and complicated problems with my G35's anterior infusion suffocator! Thankfully, I am a highly successful executive who was once a very manly auto mechanic and thus can address these issues personally, but everyone who is not incredibly wealthy and masculine should avoid this car as being too difficult to maintain! Damn you, Infiniti!

It is a true coupe
Wasn't too long ago that real luxury coupes all had pillarless doors. Nowadays (with people rarely opening their windows its a smaller issue, but I'm sure thats what they're referring to.

Re: It is a true coupe
Haha, damn straight! Infiniti has stepped its foot down in the car scene with their G35 coupe. Mercedes getting a tad jealous, heh their not the first. I've gotten looks from people in porsche's, beemer's, any and all domestic's, an SL600 last week, SUV's, and of course the infamous riced out honda's.

I can see it in their eyes, their thinking that my car looks as good as theirs, probably is as fast as it looks, and when they find out we only payed half what they did, they get overly angry and jealous.

Long live the "Infiniti Coupe," muhahaha!

Duh. I should have clarified that I clearly didn't mean to imply that the SLR was the SL500. But I figured noone would make that mistake

"too much show and not enough go"

Andrew...I respect your opinion and I too think the g35c is a great deal for the $$ but have you read the reviews on the new AMG E55? Talk about minimum show, all GO and priced very nicely...for what it's got. I've read the mag review 3 times now and am impressed every single time!

Well excuse me kind sir, I know that most people know the difference between a SL500 and an SLR. Since we were comparing an SL500 to a G35, I thought it would be more appropriate to show the actual car we were refering to.

Re: No chance in hell! =)
"Some1 talked about Infiniti quality, look at the recall w/ the 03 G35 sedan: 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan Fuel Line Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign [Sep. 24, 02]
Or, even check out http://www.nissannews.com/?http://ww...ls/index.shtml"

I can guarantee you'll find similar sites and even more recalls for Mercs. Take a look at this link:http://usatoday.com/money/autos/2003...cr-picks_x.htm

15 problems/100 cars for Nissan. And 22 for M-B! That is worse than GM and Chrysler!

MB needs to offer a bit more for the steep tag price. And if you said here's the keys (free) to a new Infiniti G35C or a new MB 500CLK. Hands down the G35 destroys the old played out looks of the Benz. I would never want to be affiliated with the persona of MB to begin with unless its a 600. So yeah, I think Mercedes Benz is shaking in their boots that their daddy bought for them. Pu$$!es...

Re: I think M-B may be jelous of infiniti :)
if someone was offering me the g35 or sl500 for free, i'd take the sl500... sell it, buy a G, and pocket the cash.. for that kind of money, that's the only logical thing to do..unless you're like bill gates and carry 1000 dollar bills in lieu of ones... and never asks for change.

I never liked the styling of MBs...rather, I generally prefer the look of BMWs. However, the SL500 is first MB that made me go the first time one passed me on the highway.

Reread my post man, I excluded all the AMG's. I'm not going to deny the power of their tuning division. But still it is a bit overpriced from what you can get from the fellow's over at M.

Well, there were some comments about MB engineering and quality going downhill, that was the reason for my posting the pic and the reason I added the comment about the engineering......sorry you got confused.
