How does keyfob work for windows?

I was playing with it today and got it to open my windows 1/8, 1/2, 1/4 and all the way down......but i don't know how i did it. Sometimes i'd work, sometimes it didn't (because i didn't do it right i guess). So yea, if some could walk me through it i'd be happy

step 1) lock car with remote
step 2) go to business
step 3) come back to car
step 4) ??????? (i don't know how to use keyfob to open windows )

I was playing with mine today...seemed that once they windows started going down, whenever I let go of the button...it would stop. I thought there was only a half-way and an all the way down.

The button that unlocks your doors when they are locked is the button you need to be concerned with. When you want to roll down the windows the the key fob, hit and hold that button. After about 5 or 7 seconds the windows will begin to roll down. When you want them to stop, just let go of the button.

About the only time I can see its usefulness is when you're walking up to the car in blazing hot weather and let the heat out of the car to help cool down that graphite interior. Can't think of anytime else you'd want to do that.

Trust me man. In Cali I have already used it a couple of times. That oh so sweet graphite leather get's oh so hot real quick. I just wish the FOB could roll the windows back up like the BMW's.

You can use the key in the driver's door lock to roll them up, at least.

Here's another little trick. Check my reply to "WickedG35" under "Whoa I Didn't Know". It's about my discovery of how our cars automatically lock down.

Re: How does keyfob work for windows?

Totally agree with RedRok8. The windows need to roll back up themselves through the lock button (or something like that). Don't understand why they just didn't to it in the first place. Don't see the sense of rolling down the window with the unlock button, and then rolling up the window with the car door.

I think it has something to do with safety, and rolling up the windows (with kids or pets in the car) and not watching what you're doing. Just a guess.

Drive safe, have fun, kick butt when necessary

Re: How does keyfob work for windows?

You can roll the windows up with the driver's door lock.. hold it in the lock position for about 3 seconds to get it started, then keep holding it until they're up.

The idea is that you could close the windows with the keyfob while walking away and not paying attention to your kid's head sticking through the window, but if you've got your key in the lock, your eyes are on the car.
