I was about to opine that parts like these are commonly stolen by kids just for kicks - in the time (dis)honored tradition of stealing hubcaps, hood ornaments etc...anything easy to take that the kid can show off as a "trophy" of his derring-do. No car necessary for that gig, or even a driver's license.
Then I read your last post here. I'd say never mind the 100% feedback. Buyers could still be delighted at his quick service in selling them (unbeknownst to them) stolen stuff. I'd email the guy ASAP and ask some discreet questions. It's too big a geographic/timing coincidence to ignore, feedback or not.
