Re: What gas octane do you use?

I put Chevron, Mobil (Exxon) or Shell...I never use Arco or any of the off-brand gas stations.

2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!

Injen SES, Kinetix cats, K&N Typhoon, 19" PIAA Super Rozza's (19x9 & 19x10)

Hi all!

Very old thread, but quite actual today.

On fuel cap it's written "Premium only". So can I use 93 AKI (98 RON) Super fuel?

thanks

93 Octane, I only fill at Chevron, and sometimes Exxon or Shell.

I always said if you can't afford the gas you can't afford the car.

I use 93, but I don't ping as much as I used to. Just use this every 3000 miles or so.

I don't know if anyone else uses this stuff, but it works almost immediately.

Always 93 octane. Exxon supreme. Costs me about $60-65 for a fillup.

This thread was posted before I joined Driver....!

Can't believe this 9 year old thread has show up? On your gas door/manual it recommends premium fuel, regardless of where you live that's 91 octane or above. You can't complain about prices, premium gas in SoCal in the last week has shot up another 10 cents per gallon. Chevron is now $4.24 per gallon and no one's telling us why. Not that it matters it all about cooperate greed!

Premium is a must. Anything lower is just dumb. I use fuel injector cleaner or fuel treatment every once in a while.

In order to save on fuel costs...dont let it hit empty before you fill up! Anyway, in Cali we only have 91... I would imagine when they say Premium they specifically mean 91 or better. Simple enough

For 03-04 sedans, our gas door says 87, and 91 for better performance. Because it's widely accepted that the 03-04 coupes and sedans have the exact same engine, I'd believe 87 would be okay for 03-04 coupes as well.
