Less driving because of gas prices...
Less driving because of gas prices...
Has anyone stopped driving their G's as much since gas has gone up? I have a 70 mile round trip to work every day and have ended up driving my commuter car more in the last week. Guess it save gas $ and mileage on the G, but its killing me not driving it!!! Wife gets to tool around in town with it while I get the "suckmobile". Not fair!!

Yes I'm driving less too. Small sacrifices by everyone will lower the demand for fuel and lower the price.

Just buy your wife a $50,000 Luxury SUV that gets worse gas mileage than your G. Then you'll have to drive the G every day just to ........ save money. Hey it works for me.

I would say no myself. It's just product in demand. They know you need it, so if you wanna dance, you gotta pay the fiddler.
Both of my cars run about $80 a week in fuel costs. This is not the case for me, but if I were starting to get squeezed on my fuel costs, I would start trimming the tree at the bottom. I would first stop my newspaper subscription, then cancel my gardener( by doing it myself on weekends) even washing my car myself, instead of forking out $40 a week (2 cars), all the way up to my cable tv, if it ever came down to it.
But no, I'm not driving less. How would you like to be a RV salesman right now? That industry has to be screaming!

The only thing that ever really deters me from driving my G is weather. I tend to leave it in the garage on real sloppy wet days, although I'm now trying to force myself not to baby it so much, after a year of ownership.
Fuel prices are never a real consideration.

Funny you should say that. We have an '01 Expedition that gets about 12mi/gal. My wife has taken to driving my G35 to work to save on gas, since she has the 15-20 minute commute.

Re: Less driving because of gas prices...
Not really....just means that I actually gotta "shop around" for gas....as opposed to just driving up to any Mobile, Texaco, Sunoco. So far, the prices in the Philadelphia area are hovering from $1.99 to upwards of $2.16. I think that I'm gonna drive out to NJ soon so that I can save $0.10 a gallon....or not.

Re: Less driving because of gas prices...
It's not really affecting my driving too much... even though it is putting quite a dent in my wallet... sorta makes me wish I still had my integ to just drive around till the prices get down again...
