Re: 18K miles a lot? Car new in April 2003...
I have a black coupe with about the same amount of miles. Bought it in April of last year as well.
I've been told that's about an average amount of miles for any car in its first year.
I feel guiltly for putting so many miles on it, but that's what it was built for. I still haven't taken it near redline.

i have almost 18k and i got my car in September '03. I'm also on a lease and i'm supposed to have 15k a year. Although i'm not worried because the way things are looking, i will be a long time Infiniti owner if they keep making cars like these. So they'll just over look the extra miles when i get another. I know my parents do it every 2 years with their Mercedes, and BMW. Hopefully Infiniti will do the same.

Exactly. I wouldn't worry about it either. That just means that you're enjoying the heck out of your coupe. That's what you bought it for, right? Since 11/29/02, I'm way under at 13, 700 miles, after a year and a half. Just keep doing what you're doing bro, and enjoy every mile.

It's fine, but keep in mind that by driving so much, the car is depreciating significantly faster than the US average mileage.
12,000 miles per year is the US average for cars
Now watch as somebody jumps on me for speaking the truth....bring it on.

I also bought my car in mid-April 2003, but I only have 11,000 miles on mine cause I live 0.5 mile from work and I walk. I think that is where a lot of people put most of the miles on their car... Several trips from the bay area to LA are the majority of my miles, but at least those trips are fun (not bump-bumper like driving to work in traffic)...

I've got over 18K on mine and I got it June 9th 2003. And I've been driving another car as well. I know several local G owners who have put 25K+ on in the first year. In Los Angeles, its almost impossible not to put tons of miles on. Plus its so damm fun to drive

I'm not doubting you but I don't know anyone that puts less than 15,000 miles a year on a vehicle. I am well on my way to 18,000 and my wife put 20,000 the first year on her vehicle.
