Re: Parting with the G!

I had a 96 Turbo-charged Talon (Eagle version of the Mitsu). I bought it new and drove it seven years before I traded for an 02 TL-S.

Those Mitsus are fast. Stock HP rating is 210 (not bad for a 2 liter engine). But rest assured, unless that Mitsu was modded, no way was it pulling on you and about to pass you.

My stock 02 TL-S had 260 HP. A fast car, but even on a good day, with the extra-tall gearing, no way would it pull on you at 120 mph.

A stock 04 TL has 270 HP. However, even if they changed the gearing, it's hard to imagine that 10 extra ponies would allow an unmodded TL to pull on you at that speed.

BTW, I've got my eye on a C6.

Re: Parting with the G!

Enjoy the Z06. I had 2, an 01 and an 03. They were awesome cars. Some of the most reliable I ever owned as well. Kept each one a little over a year and ran the crap out of them. You will be in a totally different league in a Z06. I won several battles with late model Porsche 911 Turbos. It's truly a drivers race. Also for one of the best sounds in the world back it down from 170+ to around 150 and listen to it howl. Sweet music.Right now you can get awesome deals on an 04 C5. You'll be right there performance wise against the standard C6 as well by all accounts. I like the G35 for the combination of power, style, speed and comfort, but for a pure, visceral, adrenalin rush of speed and G's the Z06 is hard to beat. A truly world class performer. I'm going to wait until the C6 Z06 comes out before I think about heading back that way. Unless of course we get a true Skyline in 07. Good luck!

Re: Parting with the G!

Hate to see you go Shawn... The drives were fun.

Even if I get FI I still don't think I'll be able to run with a Z06... Won't keep me from trying though.

04, TB/W, Nav, Aero, 6MT, Z-tube/ZWT, etc...

Re: Parting with the G!

dally curtis,
if you have that much money for a bike, why dont you get a total custom bike from those guys on discovery channel. I think they're Jesse James and the other one is West Coast Choppers.

Re: Parting with the G!

Hey Shawn sorry to hear your selling your car. I hope you enjoy the replacement you. In anycase don't be a stranger visit the boards and cruise along with us on your new ride. BTW just FYI the new M5 is going to be a V10 powered car I think somewhere in the 500+hp range. It's not going to be cheap but that is one hell of a ride. Goodluck!
