Aw that blows. Why didn't you ask your family or friend to haul the G while you were gone?

Headlights are full of water in the pic and if you can look thru the windshield you'll see sand all over the dash on the interior.

if you look closely at the headlight in the pic its half filled with water it looks like which would show you just how high the water got on the car...

by the looks of it maybe it was almost halfway submerged

sorry to see that

I'm thinking it actually came up higher than that. There is dried sand on the outside all the way over the top on the car. From the pic the insurance adjuster of the inside through the windshield it looks as if the inside also completely filled with water because the entire inside is layered with sand from the sandy water flooding in through the vents. It floated a lot of other cars like the one next to mine that was floated into mine but mine looks to have stayed in place I think.

Wasn't there a friend or relative to get it out sooner?
No one ever drove it; keys were in the safe... I was the only one to ever drive my G except my dad once or twice with me as a rider... I now wish I had left a set buried somewhere or something for emergencies like this.

Well according to our expert weather reporters, the storm surge was not expected to come in until around 6pm Friday, the Hurrricane itself not to make land until wee hours Saturday; they were off at least 9 hours. I made it in early in the morning, but the water was rising fast already. I just had no way to get back sooner.

I don't know what the exact policies are on your insurance but from our experience we have bought back to of our ls1 camaros and parted one of them out. I'd say to do this.

1. Collect insurance check.
2. Buy whatever car you want.
3. Also buy back your g35 at a percentage of the value. Usually they are 10% or so. Usually in selling the motor alone you will get back what you paid for the car.

This will put you some money back in your pocket and get you the car you wanted. I'm sure it still sucks though that you only had one payment left on it. Good luck and I'm sincerely glad you are safe.

Wow - that hurts just to look at it
You'll be happy with the G37 - it's just hard to get over your G35 being taken away from you.
