Push button start on an '06 G35 MT

Hello everyone. This is my first post (yay)! Ok, so I tried to look at previous threads for the push start but nobody really answered the question I have.

I have a 2006 G35 Coupe 6 speed. I want the push button start but I don't want to have to put the key in the car (that's just pointless.) I want to keep the key in my pocket, change the handles so I just press a button to get in, and press a button to start my baby. Kind of like the G35 sedan (07?) loaner they just gave me because of a window leak they have to look at on my driver's side. So is this doable? What parts do I need, what's it cost, and where can I find an application guide? I asked the dealer but of course the guy told me to check on-line (probably for liability reasons.)

Any help is much appreciated!

well the 05-06 G35s have the intelikey as a factory option, which is what you are talking about. But it doesnt have push start instead a plastic key **** you turn. The first step would be to get that system for the car. Then convert the ignition to push start, but its going to cost $$$. Do some searching, idk if anyone has done this yet, but im sure its possible.

You can do the push button start and it has been done by another member using an Altima start button located in the cigarette lighter location. It looked good and worked fine but lacked functionality as you still need to insert they key to use the button.

I would look at the intelligent key option that's on the 07 coupes instead of a push button. It has a small black button on the handle, which you press to unlock the car. And then, when you get in, you just turn the ignition to get it on. The key just has to be in the car, such as in your pocket.

Right now, there is no aftermarket part out that will allow you to start the car without the key (that I know of). Although, KP Technologies just released their stage 2 push button start and have started working on the stage 3. The stage 3 will allow you to start the car without the key but from what Kevin has found, you'll have to remove or disable your steering column lock.

'05-06 coupes 5AT has option for the intelligent key but 6MT don't and have to stick with the old fashion and stick the key to the ignition.

I'm guessing you want to install the intelligent key to ur 6MT as well as getting the push start.. It could be done but i think there's gonna be a lot of work/money put into the project..

No. I have an 07 with intellikey and it works pretty much any where inside of the car. I have tried pocket, passenger seat, floor board, back seat, back seat floor...all worked fine.

Spoke with a mechanic at Metro Infiniti and you can change your vehicle to push start but that means changing out your ignition, car keys and much more. Your looking at a little under 3 grand for the swap. You also got to find someone willing to do it as well. Dealerships wont do it because the vehicle isn't equipped with it.
