G35 bolt-on's = n/a cobra/z28 fast?

Im a prior mustang fan/driver and ive been wondering about some power adder's on G35's based on claims/dynos/reviews.

G35 AT sport. = 280 // G35 6mt =298
kinetix intake manifold + HFC claims 20 hp
CAI system claims 4-7 hp
cat back exhaust 5-10 hp
headers 5-10 hp
crank pulley claims 12 hp
dyno tune with all above mods listed 10-15 hp

Im not saying that all these numbers are correct, but ive been browsing around different sites and reading reviews on here about hp gains from products.

looking at the highest possible gain with all those parts installed I came up with:

AT G35- 354hp
6MT G35- 372hp

If these numbers are correct or even kinda close then either one of the G's could keep up with or beat a Z28 or n/a cobra/mach1.

Im a new G35 owner and there arent many 350z or G35's in my area but there are tons of stangs and Z28's. If loaded up with all the bolt on goodies are our cars that fast?

thanks for any info

Sorry to burst your bubble but, with all the mods you have listed you will be around 287 or so, to the rear wheels.

The hp that you have listed as a starting point is @ the crank. Most dyno to the wheels 240's stock.

Adjusted numbers
G35 AT sport. = 230 // G35 6mt = 240
kinetix intake manifold maybe 3hp up top
HFC claims 8 hp
CAI system claims 1 hp
cat back exhaust 5-10 hp
headers 5-10 hp when paired with a full exhaust and test pipes
crank pulley claims 0 hp reduces the rotating mass, makes revs faster by a little bit.
dyno tune with all above mods listed 10hp you will need either a reflash, utec, something of that nature

so the mid range of those numbers = 276 rwhp.

And the price tag on all of that is pretty high. IMO save for some forced Induction and call it a day. These cars are pretty tweaked n/a from factory so that does not leave a whole lot of room to invrove. Boost on the other hand, is a whole different ballpark.

OP, never trust vendors claims unless they are independently dyno proven.

IMO, the best mods for the NA car are the plenum spacer and HFC's or test pipes. You are on the right track with tuning your car after all the bolt-ons though. Regardless of some of the noob responses, don't be afraid to ask questions.

As a mustang owner and G35 owner I can tell you the G doesnt stand a chance unless highly modded. Plus you didnt specify what year cobra? If it an 03-04 they put about 380 to the wheels. Even a mach 1 which my brother owns put down 290 to the wheels. Both the G and the mustang are heavy cars so weight wont play a huge roll.

I love my G but their is simply no replacement for displacement...

the G is not like a mustang were you slap a simple mod on and see a lot of hp gain. the engines are pretty well tuned stock, so it makes it hard to see large hp increases w/ out going FI. in fact, i really wonder why ford produces such an inefficient engine in the first place. maybe they are setting the aftermarket up?

getting over 25 peak hp on G35's motor is a tough task without any internal work. Without spending any serious money, u can shave off 0.5 second off a 6mt and close to full second on a 5AT with some simple but working mods. Knowledge of mods > than the quantity.

I would consider going FI.

1+1=/=2 in the world of modding.
