Hey Dave,
I thought the same thing when I first test drove my 6MT. It feels a lot different from my 5MT-GSX. The Dealer said the amount of vibration was normal for my car however.
Maybe if you provide a detailed description of the vibration and during which driving conditions it occurs? Neutral, accelerating (speed/gears) and decelerating (speed/gears) could be potentially useful.
Also, have you noticed a change in vibration from when you first drove the car?

There is increased vibration of the shifter when using the engine for braking or sudden deceleration. As someone mentioned above, the shifter is directly connected to the gear shifting mechanism in the transmission, and during deceleration, there is contact in the opposite side of the gear teeth than when they are under accelerating power. Helical gears will be noisy and vibrate when the torque is in the opposite direction than normal. It's normal, don't be concerned.

It's the driveshaft. When the U-joints start wearing and develop play there will be some vibration at certain frequencies (speeds). Blip the throttle it goes away.. Confirmed with an Infiniti master tech. Not a serious issue just an annoying one.
Sure....^....he says the vibration is there at idle so the cars not moving, that's what I just read! I had two different cars that did the same thing, once I replaced the throwout bearings it disappeared. Kinda like some members here, they get old cranky and vibrate making noise....
