Beat a 540i to 50mph by 3/4 car length (his nose at my gas tank). I would have probably kept pulling on him, but I didnt want to go too fast. How much HP does a 540i have?
I dont race at all really, to be safe, but also because there arent many opportunities to race something worthwhile. It was a rush! Very proud of my G.

Funny thing is that that race probably cost me $2.00 since I sucked up so much gas, damn prices!!!

nah...540i's are slowwww...i am not sure about the hp..but 0-60 for them is like..6.3 or something.....

haha...stop picking on 540's =)...u should go for 330's....those are alot closer to your car's potential

 

But basically youre saying our G's should have blown the 540i away? Im not trying to dogg on them, I love bimmers. I just thought it was someone comparable, speed wise, to mine.

the 540's are nice and all but are quite heavier. therefore despite having more power is a bit slower. still a nice car though. actually i say nice about the older design. i can't stand the new bmw designs.....FUGLY!!!!!

Don't under estimate the 540, it will suprise you! The BMW does lug around more weight, but on the highway from a roll it won't be that critical. I would say that a 540 6spd vs G35C 6spd is a drivers race. Those bimmers run low 14's and trap over 100 mph!

I was in looove with the 540 for years since it's last redesign. I like the new ones too it's growing on me. I'll tell you those cars aren't slow by any means. They are heavy though I'm very happy with my G but I'd take the keys to the new 545 if offered.

 

The 540s in STICK are quick...I dunno, but IMHO bmw can't make a pure auto (no smg) transmission for shyt. I've seen 0-60 times for the 540 stick under 6, and for auto, mid 6s. Now the new 545i....thats a different story...don't even bother unless your well modded. Those things FLY.

 

540's are highway runners. its pretty damn quick man. my friend has a 2001 540i auto and ran kwakmann a couple times, kwak won by about a lenght? at like 90ish? those this are highway runners tho, try running one on the fwy 60+
