Bargaining with a salesman

I'm looking to purchase a G35 coupe sometime in the summer. I'm trying to pick up a 2004 model. I'm assuming they want to get rid of their remaining inventory with the 2005s coming soon. What a reasonable discount to ask for, or to start with? What kind of a discount should I expect?

Thanks

the best way to start is to fill out the information on infiniti.com...and make sure it sends to like 5 dealers...that way the dealers know you are shopping around....worked for me, got 3k off msrp

Re: Bargaining with a salesman

The G35 coupe is been out now for a while, so 3k is not unreasonable to ask for, except for geographical location. I live in the midsouth and the dealership here would not give me any discounts on their coupes because their demand exceeded their supply. So I had to buy it from NJ and have it shipped. Just something to consider...

I like to get two dealerships competing each other, just go back and forth between them and ask what the best they can give you is. Then go to the other dealership and see if they can beat it (always can).

The Bottom Line is to have the dealer show you the invoice. By law they are required to do so if you ask. Then you'll know what the mark up is on the car.

the dealers are done ordering 04's. any orders now placed, for customers or themselves are 05's. depending on what options you want and how particular you are on tranny and color, wait.

the 05's arrive in september.

if you want into dealership and say you are debating buying now or waiting for the 05's, you'll get some wiggle room.

i played small dealer vs large one. ordered car, did all of this day before and on order day.

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.
