So I'm watching some shows on the DVR with my wife last night. She fasts forward through the comercials and then I see a quick shot of what looks like a G35 coupe. Having never seen the G (sport coupe that is) in a TV ad spot, I have her rewind. To my surprise this is the car that was shown:

Scion tC?..... There are at least five design queues that seem to have plagiarized our beloved car

1. Hood and front windshield profile
2. Front fender before wheels and low lip profile
3. Side Window and rear quarter panel window profile
4. Rear window slope
5. Rear quarter Panel tire fender

I mean c'mon Toyota engineers.....have these guys not an original bone in their body.

I can't wait to see one of these cars on the road.

I've heard/read that Scion is marketting their cars to the 18-25 demographic. They are also supposed to be selling accesories to rice their cars out too...

Man, if Scion's aftermarket line beats Nismo to the US market that will just suck.

In their defense, it's not possible for every new car to have original design elements on everything.
I for one don't see much of the G coupe in the tC. Yes some of the areas are kind of similar, but you could say that about a lot of other cars too. The grill area of the tC actually reminds me more of the R34 GT-R than anything else.

that's not a bad looking car at all....and a cheap price at that too.

 

i like that car. i don't think it looks like a g at all... the roofline/profile is completely different... looks more like a tiburon in the rear and the headlights... with a touch of saturn.

 

I think it looks pretty clean. the front looks more like bmw. How can you say its a g35 knock off?lol. its no where near a g35.

 

Tell you the truth for the price its not that bad for a little car. I'm still pissed that it has the turn signal on the mirrors and we dont WTF.

One thing you guys are forgetting. Toyota makes Scion. Take a look at the G35 and the Lexus SC430. Especially from the front. Now take a look at the Toyota Solara and the Lexus SC430. The rear end is almost identical. Now take a look at the Solara and this car.

Do you guys remember when the G35c was thought to look like a Solara when it was first coming out? I even remember the Infiniti rep getting annoyed when a female said it looked like a Solara out loud when he was showing off the preproduction coupe.
