Re: plastic trim
If you mean the shiny "titanium" plastic digital wristwatch trim, you can order a G35 with AT and *without* the performance wheel package to get a color-matched trim. It's still plastic, but not nearly as noticeable as the god awful "titanium" spray-painted plastic, especially on graphite interiors. (note that you'll still have the titanium stuff on the door handles, shifter, and steering wheel, but they don't look as bad and are much easier to customize).

Re: plastic trim
I have done alot of researching on this trim issue. i first tried to find a company to cast the pieces (radioi/heater surround, the piece around the shifter, the door where the gps goes and the little door and button on center stack and the two door pulls). I have found a company that can do this but it would cost about six grand. The next option after talking to several companies that make plactic parts for the auto industry is plating all the above parts in a brushed chrome finish. I have ordered a door pull to send in for a test. I was told that it would be about $500 to do all these parts. Frankly I would have gladly paid $500 more for the car for parts with a better finish.
The door part is on back order from the dealer and as soon as I get it, I will send it to the plating company. When I get it back I will post pictures and my impression of the results.
