Reliability Issues?

Checking out a few G35's tomorrow, all 2005. My primary concern is the infamous oil consumption problem. Does anyone have any advice or anything I should look for in specific when I inspect the vehicle? Thanks

ask the dealer about it, even if it does have oil consumption you can have the engine replaced under warranty

I have an 04 Coupe... I bought it brand new in Nov 2003 and now have 87,100 miles on her. I have had the Vortech SC on since 40k miles and she has only been in the shop once for a window regulator motor (under warranty)... Other than that I change the oil every 3500 miles, I use royal purple oil, mag 2 oil filter, I clean my air filter the weekend I get my oil changed and I use 91 octane gas all the time. I also fill up with 101 once a month and use STP octane booster once in a while.

This car has been a TANK and I would buy her all over again. My wifes 2006 BMW E90 330i is a POS compared to my 04 G. Her car handles great, don't get me wrong but it has been in the shop way too many times for electricle crap going wrong (It is in the shop now for Halo's being out and the tracking headlights not working)...

Her next car will not be a BMW, maybe a new gen G35 sedan or a Acura TL... most likely a G35 Sedan tho cause I know those engines inside and out.

Good luck with your search.
