Real quick and easy question from a potential g owner :)

Hey all, Been lurking on these forums for a bit, been planning on getting my first G coupe for the past 6 months or so and its finally down to the wire.

Real quick question. The G I'm looking at is an 05 without the sport package. Now, I've heard that the car is much quieter without the sport package, anyone have opinions about that? Also, I'm going to look it up in a second but is the sport package just the larger tires or something else as well? brakes possibly?

The much more important question is: I'm from Chicago, so obviously snow is a problem. After dealing with last winter in my 97 Trans Am (no snow tires, no traction control..), I definitely dont want to go through that again, so winter tires are a must.

The question I have is this...Could I use the stock 17" rims to put winter tires on them, then purchase the Sport style larger tires (19's i think they are? or 18's) for my summer/all weather tires? I REALLY like the look of the chrome tires, but in the winter I might as well just use the stock normal ones. Any suggestions or problems with going this route?

Thanks all, getting excited!

Look in the 'Marketplace' section of this website. People are selling OEMs 19s for less than $1,300.

Sport package has the 19" wheels, sport tuned suspension, limited slip differential, aluminum pedals, perforated leather and orange stitching on the steering wheel.

Anyone thats driven both sport and base models mind comparing the two in ride quality for me? If anyones been in a trans am before, its pretty rough. I dont mind it "feeling the road" at all, im more worried about road and tire noise (im going for a relatively quiet ride).
