Question about oil change

Hi guys
I did my 42k service 5 months ago, and at that time I had 40k on my car.
I only managed to put on 2k mileage this past 5 months and I would like to do a service before I store my car for the winter.

My question is that can I do the 42k service again or I have to do the 48k service?

PS. My mileage now is about 42500 and I always use mobil 1 synthetic oil

Thanks

With only ~2000 miles on the oil, put it away as is, all will be ok..

I disagree, IMHO. I always store my car on clean new oil for the winter(less than 5 miles on the new oil).

Oil changes aren't that expensive, might as well have the peace of mind in knowing that you don't run any risk of dirty oil sitting in the same place in your motor for 4 or 5 months straight and turning sludgy at the bottom or caking up on the sides of the oil pan and oil pickup.

Winter Sleep....!

It's a better feeling knowing that what's sitting in the oil pan is brand new
and won't leave any sludge behind....not that Mobil 1 would! I think this is
refereed to as "CONFIDENCE!"

I would be sure to run it a little after the oil change (if you choose to do one) to ensure the new clean oil is circulated throughout the engine.

Not necessary, IMO, especially with only 2k miles on synthetic oil.
