i have 5% tint on mine and got pulled over once and the cop ran the meter thing on my window to read the percentage and it came to 2%!!! he goes, holy sh*t, 2%? lowest i ever seen and let me go haha.
i love my tint, i just roll them down whenever i see a cop.

i live in san jose and have 5%. i initially kept my windows down most of the time but now I put them up whenever, just down when you see a cop. For less than 100 bucks for the fronts its not too bad anyway
in cali it's not worth it. i got pulled over in downtown San Jose once because a person in the back seat did not have their seat belt on. it's not worth being a target.

I have 5% tint on my current car (don't have the G yet) and at night as long as I am in a lit area I can see fine out the windows... It's when there are no street lights that I can't see ****, especially when it rains, lol gotta open window slightly when making left turns. I live in NY, and I have gotten 3 fix it tickets for tints, I wasn't actually stopped for the tints though, it was always for something else and ended up getting tint ticket rather than why I was really stopped lol. There had been 2 other occasions where I was pulled over, one time it was around the corner of my house, officer said he stopped me cuz I failed to use right turn signal when turning onto block (was coming home from GFs house @ 5am was soo tired and nobody was around) the cop ended up being cool though, told me that my tints were illegal and just said you gotta take em off "but im sure you wont actually do it" lol and let me go. And, about 1 week ago, I finally got stopped, and the officer said he pulled me because of tints! I couldn't believe it. Although, this was a state trooper on the southern state pkwy, for those familiar with the area. He also let me know my rear plate lamp was out (that never worked since i had the car, 4 years now no one ever mentioned that to me) but I got off no tickets since he noticed the police stickers on my windshield and simply asked me who I knew on the force. That was the first time I ever got stopped by a state trooper too, I couldn't believe he said it was for tints, I thought it was cuz I was doin like 60mph in a 55mph. Well, this was a bit more long winded than I expected but just sharing my story. It's 2am and I cant sleep I'm too psyched to be checkin out this G tomorrow...
I have 20% all around don't need it darker. My dad had a car decades ago that he bought from a guy who owned his own dealership. The owner must have had someone do a favor and tint the windows crazy dark. I almost got killed one night in high school as I pulled out in front of someone thinking they were farther away due to the tint's distortion.
If you get the 5% don't come bitching when you get a ticket.
