Just Got Into a Car Accident..=(
Easily more than 5k in damages..you sneeze on a car today and you have 1k in damages...sorry to see that and glad you are ok...
Replacing airbags can be around 1k on it's own..

Air bags alone cost around 1k? Damn. I'm checking prices online how much parts cost, I'm thinking of just putting the parts I want on the car instead. I really hope my insurance doesn't consider the car totalled when I bring it in tomorow morning.
if i were to get into a decent sized front end collision, i'd be happy to get the car totaled. sometimes its just not the same. later down the road you might start hearing rattles, things coming apart, etc...but if you plan to put aftermarket parts on it, then it might work in your favor if they cut you a check.
sorry to hear about it....(coming from chicago as well)
and that damage is EASILY going to cost over $5k...probably more than $8k.

Yeah that's if they cut a check and if they don't consider the car done or whatever. If they do, Nismo parts automatically since I work at a Nissan shop. I'm still thanking God nothing else happened..it could've been worse.
koksik86 where you from in chicago?

just happened to my old in her 06 v6 accord... it was 16k in damages on hers and they fixed it still... needless to say we traded it in for her 08 tl type s the day we got it back... glad u guys werent hurt...
Your suspension looks bent - the camber looks screwed, and looks like severe toe out and the entire wheel has been probably pushed in towards the engine. I would say well over $5 G. New: hood, fender, bumper & support, light, suspension, wheel well, wheel/tire, passenger door, side skirt, air bags, and anything in the engine bay that may have been damaged (I would guess the rad and support and maybe more). If the frame has been bent, this will be a write-off.
BTW, totaling a car varies between insurance companies but is roughly around 70% of current market value. You're going to be close.

Here is mine in comparison. The pic looks worse than it really was - this was immediately after I hit it when I pulled over.

And here it is after I pounded the fender out for the time being until I get it in the shop, as well as pulled the bumper cover back into place so it lines up flush with the fender. Amazing that this little damage was 3 grand.
I have to agree with the comments directly above... it's gonna be close.
I hit a coyote on the highway. I barely clipped him with the front passenger corner. Cracked the bumper cover, put a hole in the windsheild washer tank and bent a few little brackets. That was a little over 4K.
You would be amazed at how fast little things add up. The 3M alone was $700.
Yours looks a lot worse than this, obviously.
Glad everyone is okay... cars are replaceable.
I bet the tool bag ran because he was drunk and wanted a "leaving the scene" more than a "DUI".
Best of luck with the repairs.
My car just after the coyote

Back to new...
